First, I'd like to thank you for this informative article. Secondly, I would like to ask where I can get more information regarding your post. I came here through Bing and cannot find any other relevant pages on there. Thanks in advance! :)

There is a new alternative to the Jitterbug called the Just 5. It has all the features seniors need with none of the features that they don't need. It's a contract-free phone that works with any service provider that uses SIM cards which means you don't need to switch service providers, just pop out the SIM card in your old phone and pop it into the Just 5 and you're good to go. It has large buttons for ease of use and volume that is loud enough to be heard without interfering with any hearing aid devices. The screen displays the numbers and menus in large, easy to see text. One other important feature is the SOS button located on the back of the phone for emergencies. When pressed, the SOS button sends out a text message to up to 4 preset numbers saying that there is an emergency. Then it calls those numbers until someone answers and when they do it switches to speaker phone mode. A great feature to have, if you ask me. More information can be found here: www.just5.com

If Jitterbug is so simple do use, how come in 60 seconds you never gave any of the details about why Jitterbug is "so simple?" In 60 seconds you could not explain what we "older citizens" really want to know. You went on-and-on about contracts versus no contracts and all "the bad features" of other companies.

The dial tone at the start is nice. Seniors THEN want to dail the d--- thing. Not answer a whole bunch of questions like the "third degree." My current phone brings up all the things a senior has no interest in - Choice One - get your messages. Hey, I am a senior - no one sends me messages. Choice Two - edit and adjust the ten thousand CONTACTS in your data base. Hey, I am a senior, not a teenager.

Is there really a cell phone that is not designed with teen agers in mind? I thought it was we seniors that were "in charge of the world."
